McNAMER HILLSIDE PLOT

Checked-December 11, 1974 by H. A. Dieter. Located one and one half mile north of Stoddard Corners on County Trunk NN. The original Fred McNamer farm is presently owned by Earl Schulze and lies in section 19, Town of  Willow. The two children buried here on this hillside area were those of Milton and Nettie Hazelton McNamer. One lone gravestone remains loose and lying face down against a large pine tree. The location is almost inaccessible and would require a great amount of work and expense to isolate and mark it for future reference. Data gathered with the kind help of Mrs. Freda McNamer of Ithaca shows recorded evidence of the father Milton having been born in Lewis County, West Virginia in 1846.  His death occurred January 1, 1931. The mother lived in Whittlesey, Taylor County, Wisconsin at the time of her death (prior to her husband's). One daughter lived to maturity - name is not obtainable at this time. She operated a telephone switchboard in LaValle for many years.
